Consultation Appointment

Your FIRST APPOINTMENT

Before arrival at the clinic, you may be sent a medical questionnaire and consultation form to complete. Please fill the form with as much information about yourself as possible, as this will help us better understand your health and what options we can offer you.

CONSULTATION
All our consultations are complimentary. In some cases people do not want to come for an initial consultation but we do encourage it so we can ensure that you have all the information possible to make the right decision.
We know that the best way to ensure that our patients get the most from their journey with us, is to enable patients to become experts in their condition or treatment. I aim to provide you with the latest knowledge so that you feel empowered to make the right choice for you. During our consultation, we will discuss aspects of physiology, research, best practice guidelines. We will also provide you with an individual treatment plan and information about each treatment. This will give you a clear idea of what we can offer you, the results that can be achieved, the maintenance of these results and the costs.

CONSENT PROCESS
We deliver safe and effective treatments to all our patients, and focus on providing our patients with appropriate information that will help them make an informed decision about their treatment.
Prior to your appointment with us, you will receive a consultation form with information about the treatment you are booking. Please read through this carefully as this contains useful information about the advantages, disadvantages of the treatment. You will be directed to sign the consent form.

At your treatment appointment, we will provide you with the same information to read once again. We will then talk you through this treatment and answer any questions you may have. The purpose of this is to make sure that we are all on the same page and you feel involved in your own treatment.

PATCH-TESTING
All laser treatments require a patch-test at least 24 hours prior to treatment. A patch-test is a few pulses of laser at different settings to enable us to, firstly, identify an effective treatment level for you and, secondly, ensure that the settings we use will not cause any adverse skin reactions. The patch-test also enables you to experience what the laser treatment is like and gives you an idea of what to expect in terms of recovery. Where possible, we will aim to do the patch-test at your consultation appointment. However, this may not always be possible, and you may need to return for you patch-test at a later date.
For other treatments such as botulinum toxin injection or dermal filler treatment, a patch-test is not required.
