Dermal Fillers Treatment

Dermal fillers are a non surgical treatment to enhance your natural beauty. As we get older a naturally producing substance called hylaronic acid stops being produced. This causes the face to loose volume, and gravity to pull downwards leading to more pronounced signs of ageing, such as fine lines and wrinkles, flat cheeks and jowls.

Dermal fillers are made from synthetic hylaronic acid, that can be replaced in a naturally and safe way. What you can achieve is a more natural or youthful look.

Please note: Any injectable procedure will only be undertaken after your face to face consultation during which a full assessment will be carried out and full list of cautions and contraindications discussed.

FAQ

How does it work?

Injectable filler gel adds volume to the skin, plumping it out and giving the appearance of a smoother surface. Filler smoothes moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds. This treatment is generally used on the lower face for lines around the nose and mouth and lines around the lips (often called 'smoker's lines').
This is dependent on the area to be a treated and the look you want to achieve. In your complimentary consultation you can tell us what you want to achieve and together we can tailor an individual treatment plan that is unique to your needs. You might need more than one visit as the filler that has been placed in the first visit can settle. We always recommend booking a two week follow up the day you have your treatment. Any additional filler can be placed after two weeks.
We use medical grade local anaesthetic to make it as pain free as possible.
We will inject small quantities of filler into the areas where you have lines/wrinkles or indents. The filler of choice used by Nurse Deborah is Juvéderm®. Juvéderm® is the leading facial filler available on the market and comes with a local anaesthetic which makes the process relatively painless. It should take approximately 20 minutes and the effects are instant*
Results can depend on the product used and the area treated. Most results with Juvaderm Ultra (treating nasolabial folds and cheeks) will last 6- 9 months. Juvaderm Volbella, will last between 12 – 16 months. However, repetitive movements such as smoking and kissing can cause the results to last shorter. First time filler may also last shorter than repeat treatments, particulary in the lips.

Yes, as long as they are administered by a medical professional. The hyaluronic gel is completely natural, and over time, the filler will slowly dissolve, causing no harm to you.
Side effects can vary with each individual area treated and these will be discussed with you prior to you deciding to have your treatment.

Swelling will become more prominent after the 12 hours and can last as long as 48/72 hours, depending on the area being treated. You will be advised not to put on make up after so it might be advised to go home straight after, as you might be red. Bruising, mild discomfort are also common side effects. Length of time of these can vary from person to person. If you can have concerns you can contact us.
Asymmetry, infections, bruises and swelling, allergic reaction
Refrain from touching or rubbing the filled area for six hours after your treatment is complete. Avoid subjecting the filled area to extremely high or low temperatures. Be gentle when washing the filled area of your face.
You should not have fillers if you have severe allergies, are pregnant or breastfeeding.
